Pennsylvania’s growing Latino population is experiencing a shortage of Spanish-speaking counselors, leaving mental health needs unmet. The MH SEEDs Program is a 3-year grant funded initiative dedicated to providing innovative mental health support for Latinos in Southeastern Pennsylvania by increasing linguistically and culturally competent group and individual counseling for Latino adults and youth.
Our program nurtures Spanish-speaking social work and counseling practicum students, offering training and support as they lead free and low-cost mental health support groups for Latinos in Southeastern PA. We empower these students to become effective, Spanish-speaking mental health professionals through specialized training.
If you are part of a church or community group located in Southeastern PA and are interested in learning more or taking part in our community needs assessment, please contact janelle@weriseinternational.org. We look forward to your partnership!
If you are a bilingual (Spanish/English) Social Work or Counseling student interested in a practicum with MH SEEDs, please visit the Join Our Team page for more information. We look forward to working with you!
